Aghaderg 6-6 Mayobridge 6-2
A classy first half performance which saw Aghaderg capitalise on a slow Mayobridge start ultimately determined the outcome of this final. A well taken free from Cliodhna opened the scoring for the reds and from then on Aghaderg were relentless in attack. Scores from Clodagh, Orla and Cliodhna ensured Aghaderg went into the break with a commanding lead 5-4 to 1-1
Mayobridge however were not giving up without a fight. An early point from the reds on the restart did nothing to quell the Mayobridge onslaught in the second half. Aided by the breeze the Mayobridge attacks were incessant but with resolute defending and workrate from midfield Aghaderg pushed to counterattack at every opportunity. A missed Aghaderg penalty in the closing minutes did nothing to diminish the hunger for victory. Each and every girl fought to the final whistle and deservedly finished up as championship winners!
