The U-13s travelled to An Riocht tonight in the league quarter final. From our previous game we knew we were in for a very physical and tight game and we were not wrong. An Riocht hit the ground running catching the young Derg men cold in the first ten minutes with 4 very well taken goals to go into a very strong lead. The Reds kept at it however and from the middle of the first half on matched An Riochts workrate with some fine passages of football to go in 4-5 to 1-2 down.
In the second half the lads kept at it and proved more than a match for their opposition working hard for each other on and off the ball. With a bit more composure in front of goals and a little bit of luck the game could have been much closer such was the lads display in the second half. But goals win matches and we were just not able to get over the start we gave the opposition tonight.
Final score 4-9 to 2 -7.
Hard luck lads on the result but nobody can fault each of your efforts tonight it just wasn't our night.
