Opening game of U12 football league commenced today Sunday 8
th
May.
An extraordinary performance was displayed by St.Colmans away from home to Newry Bosco. With a strong panel of 21 players to choose from, the starting 15 were, 10 from Tullylish and 5 from a possible 6 from Aghaderg. Playing with a strong wind in the first half St. Colmans romped off to a great start scoring 0-4 without reply from Bosco. In the 12

minute bosco scored a goal which came from a rebound off the keeper (Ben McNally), after pulling off a magnificent save.
There were some great performances within the defense with the power house (Frank McCartan) steaming forward and clearing the goal mouth. Flanked by Paddy McGrath and Mark Colgan, who between them cleared the ball well out of their own half of the pitch. Midfield duo Cailum Meara and John McAnerney (1PT) won most of the ball in the midfield and both contributed immensely to the game.
In the first half a total of
4-9 to 1-0
was recorded in favour of St. Colmans. There were some outstanding displays of football from all over the field with a super block from Ryan Donnelly in the second half and another goal mouth clearance from a 45 free. Centre half back (Liam Farrel) assisted by Michael McConnell, surged forward with great dominance and setting up the forwards for some great scores, Michael McKay 1 goal 2 pts, Jamie McAtamney 4 pts, Dylan Breen 1pt, Aiden McGuinness 2 goals 1pt, Shae McGuiness 2 goals.
Two subs which came on in the second half and scored one point each (Matthew Porter and Conor Molloy). Callum Lynch played well setting up some of the scores. The second half was a bit tougher fighting against the breeze, with St. Colmans scoring 1-2 to Boscos 3-4.
St Colmans had the extra determination and belief in themselves to win the game with a score line of
5-11 to 4-4.
Substitutes that came on throughout the game were Callum McConville, Matthew Porter, Oisin, Brandon, James, and Conor, Man of the match was awarded to Mark Colgan who had an outstanding game.
