Match Report
Portaferry Have Just Too Much Fire Power.
Date Filed:
26 May 2010
Portaferry 4-22, Ballyvarley 0-5
A very strong, superbly fast and fit Portaferry side, containing many of their first team were just too good for Ballyvarley. In many ways Ballyvarley played quite well but just could not match the scoring power of their opponents. If three or four great goaling chances had been taken it would have helped put a better complexion on the game. In a spirited performance Ballyvarley had a number of players who were able to rise to the occasion especially, Cathal O’Neill, Colm O’Neill, Eunan McConville and Paul O’Neill, with David Lavery, Ciaran Connolly and Jamie Murray also playing well. In spite of the heavy defeat, the team kept playing spiritly to the end
Team:
Cathal O’Neill; Steven Daly, Niall Higgins, Eunan McConville; Jamie Murray, Colm O’Neill, Daiid Lavery; Paul O’Neill(0-5, three frees), Ciaran Connolly; Sean Kennedy, Cathal McGrath, Leigh McConville; Niall Savage, James McGrath, James McConville.
