Aghaderg 1-2 Longstone 0-9
Aghaderg’s young Senior Camogie team are finding life tough in the higher leagues, but you can tell the experience is doing them the world of good. In this game alone you could see the learning curve as they grew in stature as the match progressed and they gave an accomplished Longstone side a run for their money in a very competitive second half.
The visitors had the craft, the physique and the sharper skills and in the early stages they threatened to run away with this game. But they never did! Aghaderg stuck to their task and held Longstone to just three points in a close first half.
Aghaderg came out flying in the second period and an early goal from Sarah Malone was just rewards for their efforts, and it was game on. There was no hiding place out there as the exchanges got keener and we were treated to a rip-roaring game of camogie. Longstone pulled three points ahead but a brace of points from Danielle Stewart pegged them back once again.
In the end, the greater experience finally told and with three further points, Longstone took the spoils.
