Tonight our Senior lads played their final Championship group game at home against a strong Dundrum side who had already beaten us twice in the league this year. With perfect conditions and the pitch in fantastic shape, both sides started cautiously, the Derg men battling against a stiff breeze.

At half-time, the visitors led 0-11 to 1-3, but with Dundrum reduced to 14 men following a red card, and the breeze now at their backs, our lads knew the game was far from over.

The second half saw a tremendous fightback as the Derg threw caution to the wind and went on the attack. The lads clawed their way level, pushed ahead by a single point with only minutes to go, and had the crowd on their feet. Unfortunately, Dundrum struck late to snatch a draw, the game finishing 3-9 to 0-18.

This leaves everything to play for in the next Championship outing away to Glasdrumman, with progression still within reach. A fantastic second-half performance – well done lads!

Special mention to Sean Devlin, who made his Senior Championship debut tonight at corner forward, becoming the 6th debutant of the season, following Eoin Brackenbury’s debut last week against Bright. Brilliant to see so many young players stepping up to the mark!
