PIPS Baton of Hope Walk

Aghaderg GAC and Ballyvarley HC were proud to support the PIPS Baton of Hope Walk in Banbridge this afternoon.
Despite the weather, it was a beautiful and moving event. The baton arrived at the Downshire by supercar and was passed to Leanne Simpson to begin its journey through the town.
Leanne was walking in memory of her brother Paddy, a much-loved past member, and it was heartwarming to see her Aghaderg and Clann na Banna family come together to support her on such an emotional day, along with many others from our community.
The baton changed hands throughout the route, including gaels from our other neighbours in Tullylish, with the walk finishing at Havelock Park.
A huge well done to everyone involved in organising this important event for mental health and suicide prevention. Special shout-out to our own Noleen McGovern, who was part of the team behind it all
We stand with our community in raising awareness and ending the stigma surrounding mental health.
