Ballyvarley 2-18 Bredagh 1-13

Ballyvarley hosted Bredagh in what was a most entertaining hurling game. The first half saw both teams trade points for the first twenty minutes before Liam Conlon broke through and hit the back of the Bredagh net. Bredagh made the most of some space and always looked dangerous but the midfield of McKay and Teague worked hard throughout. At half time Bredagh led by two points in a very close encounter.

The second half saw different focus from Ballyvarley and it was them who created the space in the forward line and the half backs stood firm throughout, and Ballyvarley started to put scores on the board, closing the half time gap and for the first time opening up some distance between them and Bredagh. This was further widened when Malone broke through from the right wing after some great play from the backs to rifle the ball to the bottom corner of the net. Bredagh chasing the game played for goals and some great saves from McConville in nets and robust defending from the full back line of Boyle, Burns and McComiskey held the Bredagh attack at bay to finish the game with a strong win.
This was much better second half display with the forwards taking their scores with very few wides and all contributing positively.
