Senior Hurling

20 April 2025

The senior hurlers were away to @carryduffclg on Monday evening and played with a slight breeze in the first half. The pitch was in superb condition for hurling with a thick blanket of grass so no excuses in what was a cracking game of hurling .

The reds opened up an early lead with points from Liam Conlon and Matthew Malone before the gap widened when Malone hit the back of the Carryduff net. Ballyvarley dominated at Half back and Midfield with Davies, McNulty, MCKay and Rory Og on top whilst the forwards changed last weeks display with most points coming from play.

The half finished with Ballyvarley 1-10- 0-6.

The second half saw Carryduff strengthening their team with 5 subs and quickly added three points without reply and then a goal to change the whole dynamic of the game. Scores were traded even though Carryduff dominated play before Carryduff edged ahead ahead by two points but Ballyvarley responded coming back to level the game.

This was a much better display with most points coming from play and also the resilience to come back when under pressure through the second half.

Final Score Carryduff 1-16 Ballyvarley 1-16
