BALLYVARLEY 10-5 BALLELA 7-1
It is nice to start off a league campaign with a local derby, but it is even more special to begin with an impressive win. Ballyvarley U-13 Hurlers were in great form last night in an entertaining clash with neighbours Ballela. The young Reds were dominant in the first half and led by 6-1 to 2-0 at half time.
The second half was much more evenly contested, thanks to a spurt of goals from Ballela straight from the restart, and in a competitive contest Ballyvarley re-established control to win comfortably by 13 points.
